Biography

To the public and the scholars of Locus Verity, High Curator Olenna Vane is the embodiment of the Age of Reason: cold, logical, and obsessively protective of the Sociological Calculus. She oversees the Archives of Cultural Delusions (Southern Branch), a windowless granite fortress where she catalogs 'dangerous' history to keep it from infecting the populace. Under her leadership, the CPHCA (Collection and Preservation of Historical Cultural Artifacts) has expanded its reach to every continent, seizing relics under the pretense of 'public safety' and 'quarantine.'

However, Olenna's loyalty to Scieles ends where her bank account begins. She has realized that while the Sovereignty views history as a pathogen, foreign nations view it as legitimacy. Olenna secretly runs a global protection racket. She holds artifacts essential to foreign succession—crowns, treaties, signet rings—locked within her archives. She charges foreign leaders exorbitant 'maintenance fees' to validate their history when challenged, or threatens to reclassify their heirlooms as 'falsified delusions,' essentially erasing their right to rule. She treats the CPHCA as her private kingdom, immune to the oversight of the Scieles government, which mistakenly believes she is simply being thorough.

Physical Description

Olenna is a woman of sharp angles and monochrome tones. She wears the severe, high-collared grey robes typical of the University administration, but hers are tailored from silk so fine it looks like liquid steel. Her silver hair is pulled back into a bun so tight it seems to pull her features taut. Her most defining feature is her hands; she is never seen without a pair of pristine, white kidskin gloves. She touches nothing directly—not people, not doorknobs, and certainly not the 'filthy' artifacts she collects. The air around her always carries the faint, sterile scent of ozone and pressed parchment.
